The Gardner Senior Center serves lunch Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 12:00pm. Suggested voluntary donation for lunch is $3.00 dollars. Menu is subject to change without notice. If you plan to dine in the Gardner Senior Center Café, you need to call the day before by 12 Noon. The direct number is 978-632-1330. MOC makes these lunches possible. We can't wait to see you again!
Bean Bag Monthly Tote
The Gardner Senior Center, in partnership with the Gardner CAC, is offering the
Bean Bag Program (PDF)
(similar to the Elder Brown Bag). Eligible seniors who pre-register will receive a re-usable tote bag of free groceries once per month, usually on the 1st Wednesday. Submit an
Senior Food Pantry
On the third Wednesday of each month, the Gardner CAC pantry is open only to seniors, age 60 plus from 9:00 a.m.–Noon. The Senior Food Pantry distributes a selection of groceries geared more toward senior health, including lower-sodium foods. Seniors (60+) who reside in Gardner, Ashburnham, Hubbardston, and Westminster may apply.

Meals on Wheels
MOC's Meals on Wheels is a meal program offering a well-balanced meal to adults through home delivered services or congregate dining sites. Its is a federally funded Nutrition Program that encompasses both the familiar Meals on Wheels Program and Congregate Dining Sites, Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver nutritionally balanced meals to home bound elders and adults with disabilities while Congregate Dining Sites provide the opportunity for those elders who are able to leave their homes without assistance to come out to eat and socialize.
Each meal meets one-third of the USDA's Daily Recommended Dietary Allowances for adults. Suggested voluntary donation for lunch is $3.00 dollars to cover costs. In order to be eligible for Meals on Wheels, applicants must be 60 years of age or older adults with disability who are determined to be "Homebound" are eligible for home delivered meals.
You can sign yourself or a family member up for Meals on Wheels by calling the Montachusett Opportunity Council at: 978-345-8501, ext 2, OR you can visit the Montachusett Opportunity Council website at https://www.mocinc.org/elder-services. MOC is located in Fitchburg at 601 River Street.
You can now apply for SNAP benefits at the Gardner Senior Center.HOPE staff will be onsite on the first and third Thursday of each month. from 9:30-11:00am. Applications will be taken by appointment only.The Department of Transitional Assistance will be her eon the alternating second and fourth Thursday of the month. Times are staggered.
