GMS Parents, Guardians, & Students:
As you know, regular school attendance and participation is one indicator for having a successful student. This year, the attendance rates have been consistent with past years. This is a data point to be celebrated as there have been so many obstacles to overcome in getting students here, or online every day. Our PBIS(Positive Behavior Incentive System) has been focused on attendance during the month of November. The Team with the best attendance is 6A. Students on this Team will be receiving a small token to recognize this accomplishment.
Thank you to those of you who responded to our hybrid learning survey. Of the responses received, the majority of respondents (52%) have students who are fully remote. Survey results also show that 84% of those responding do feel as though the “live” lessons are benefitting their students and that the technology provided by the district has allowed for students to easily connect to teachers and peers. Questions asked regarding the amount of work students are asked to complete and the amount of screen time students have both received the majority of responses in the “just right” category with 70% responding “just right” to the amount of work given and 58% responding “just right” to the amount of time spent on a screen. Please continue to share your feedback and questions with our staff as we are constantly looking to improve the hybrid learning experience for our students.
Upcoming dates to be aware of:

Here is the latest version of the Wildcat Wellness Newsletter. I have added:
a section in the newsletter that gives a link to the graphs that are updated each week that we go over at the Safety Committee. Data on students and staff are tracked by the school nurse and myself. The graphs are district specific, but the data is tracked at the school level, so we can break it down further.
a new section with the running total of cases we have had so far in each building and the district.
Q+A section to answer or address concerns and questions that are anonymously collected from the General Health and Safety Concerns form
