[ARCHIVED] GMS Parent Newsletter - October 7, 2020

October 7, 2020

GMS Parents, Guardians, & Students:

I hope you all enjoyed our Open House videos! Our teachers worked hard on them and really enjoyed sharing their classroom information with the community.

GMS will transition to a hybrid model of learning on Monday, October 26th.  Students in Cohort A will attend in person learning on Mondays and Tuesdays, and will be learning remotely from home on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Those in Cohort B will learn remotely from home on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and will be in person learning on Thursdays and Fridays. Our schedule should be finalized in the next few days and shared with the community.  Our doors will open for our In-Person students at 7:30 a.m. and our dismissal time will be 12:45 p.m..  The learning will continue when our In-Person students get home.

Thank you all for your survey responses.  We have finalized our Cohort D (Full Remote Students) and families will receive an email by the end of the week to check in on their status and responsibilities.

The district is finalizing our Cohort C list. This information will be available in the near future.

Technology

Please be aware that each student will need a school issued Chromebook when we transition to hybrid learning.  These devices will travel with students to be used in school while students are here and will also be used at home on the remote learning days.  Please reach out to the GMS Main Office if you need to pick up a Chromebook for your student.
