[ARCHIVED] Memorial Day Parade

Assembly at Gardner City Hall at 9:30 a.m. Parade will proceed to Main Street to Central Street to Monument Park for ceremonies.  


The Gardner High School Band, under the direction of Douglas Lepisto, will initially form on the grass in front of the Post Office, to furnish appropriate music.  Taps and the National Anthem will be furnished by this band at both monuments.  A selection will be furnished at Monument Park.

The Gardner Middle School Band, under the direction of Michelle Heffner will initially form on the grass in front of City Hall.  They will play a selection at City Hall and Monument Park.  

The American Legion Post 129 Firing Squad, with Ed Morrissey in charge, will fire at Monument Park.

The V.F.W. Post 905 Firing Squad, with Howard Sands in charge, will fire at the City Hall.

Assigning poppy presenters will be Clement Tourigny, V.F.W. Post 905.

All colors and color guards will form a line in front of the flag ole, facing the stage at Monument Park.  Supervision is by Edward S. Yablonski, Parade Marshall.

Robert Blake, American Legion Post 129, is in charge of delivering wreaths to all monuments.

In case of inclement weather, all ceremonies will be held in the Gardner High School Auditorium, starting at 10:30 AM.
