GMS Parents, Guardians, & Students:

We are now halfway through the first quarter. This week students started new UA classes, including Band and Chorus. Progress reports will be available in Plusportals on Friday afternoon. You will receive an email notifying you that they are ready for viewing and giving you directions for doing so.

 Dates to be aware of:

                               October 7- GMS PTO meeting 6-7 pm

                               October 8- Quarter 1 Progress reports available

                                October 11- No School for Columbus day

                        Health Screenings                    

The GMS health office will begin performing state mandated screenings beginning on October 14th.  These screenings are an important part of detecting developing medical issues that may also impact your student's academic performance.

Please see the letter linked below for further information. 

Parents who wish to have their student opt out of any of the screenings should fill out the note that follows the letter and send it into school with the student. **Please note that students have also received printed copies of this letter and note for your convenience.

The District will be holding the first SEPAC meeting of the year on Thursday, October 14th. Nurse leader Becky McCaffrey will be presenting.

Having trouble finding time to check Plus portals?   

Sign-up using the directions below and a weekly email will be sent to your inbox with graded assignments and current averages for each class.

After you log in to the Plus Portals page, click on your name at the top right corner.  A drop down menu will appear:

Click On - EMail Notifications and follow the instructions.

Be sure to check off “YES” to receive automatic notifications, how often you would like them, and the information you'd like to receive. 

 You can provide one or two email addresses to have the notifications sent to. 

 Be sure to click on SAVE at the bottom of the page.

Progress reports for Quarter 1 will be available in the portal on October 8, 2021. That day you will receive an email letting you know that they are available as well as directions for accessing them.


GPS Night at the Worcester Railers            Saturday, November 6th will be GPS night at the Railer’s game. Every Gardner Public Schools student will be given a complimentary ticket to the game and adults can get discounted tickets by using the link contained in the flyer below. The GHS Select Choir will be singing the National Anthem before the game. Come on out and join us for a night of hockey and fun at the DCU center in Worcester

42nd Greater Gardner Turkey Trot             

It's that time of the year, the early registration for 42nd Greater Gardner Turkey Trot is open.

          Thanksgiving November 25, 2021

 Walkers 8am and Runners 8:30am 

 5 miles Route 68 Gardner to Baldwinville. 

The Turkey trot Benefits Both Narragansett & Gardner High/ Middle Schools Track & Field & Cross Country programs.

The Covid-19 plan: if needed, would be similar to last year with distance waves starting 8am and the last wave off by 8:45am the latest, masks at the start line until distanced and masks around the finish line. Limited people allowed in the halls at any one time with masks on. This is only if Massachusetts is like it was last year with restrictions, otherwise it will all be traditional starting with walkers leaving at 8am  and runners at 8:30AM with optional masks.
