Responsibilities
The Committee was created by ordinance and has oversight over all proposals and projects funded through the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
Community Development Block Grant
The CDBG program is a federal program that provides funding to states and local governments to address a broad range of community development needs, while principally benefiting low- and moderate-income persons. Gardner receives CDBG funds from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC) which receives an annual allocation from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Gardner is a Mini-Entitlement community, which means that the city receives funds every grant cycle.
For more information, please visit our CDBG page: Community Development Block Grants | Gardner MA.
The Community Development Block Grant program provides funding and technical support for projects that achieve the City's development objectives, while principally benefiting low- and moderate-income persons. For more information, see our Grants page.
