The Gardner Cultural Council is pleased to announce that the deadline for accepting standard grant applications has been extended to December 14, 2020 at 11:59 EST. for field trips, performances and other projects to be completed in 2021. The application is available on line only at https://www.mass-culture.org/Gardner. The Gardner Cultural Council’s priority is to fund cultural programs that benefit children, the elderly, families, and the Gardner community at large. Each application will be evaluated on its own merits. Those that meet council guidelines and benefit Gardner residents will be funded in part or in full.
The Gardner Cultural Council has awarded more than $20,000 in grants per year. The State Legislature is currently still operating on a month to month budget as a result of the pandemic. This means that the earliest possible time the Mass Cultural Council will be determining Local Cultural Council Allocations would be in January. While the total amount of funding available will be contingent upon the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s fiscal 2021 state budget appropriation, we do remain hopeful that our local council will receive similar funding as it has in past years.
Past recipients of Gardner Cultural Council grants include: CAPS Collaborative, Gardner Contra Dances, programs at the Gardner Senior Center, Gardner Area League of Artists, the Gardner Museum, the Helen Mae Sauter School, House of Peace & Education., Monument Park Summer Concerts, Levi Heywood Memorial Library Children’s programs, and North County Land Trust.
