Purpose
The Engineering Department furnishes engineering services and technical advice to the various departments of City government on matters relating to public and private construction projects and municipal infrastructure.
Duties
The Engineering Department also maintains custody of plans of streets, sanitary sewers, water mains, storm drains, sidewalks, bridges, dams and other facilities owned by the City. The Department is also repsonsible for the City's street lights.
