Cemetery Interpretive Tour
After completing the walking tour participants can continue to a role playing interpretive tour of the Old Burying Ground. Here eleven costumed re-enactors, standing at the gravestones of the early settlers, will tell the story of Gardner’s formation. Just a few of the re-enactors will be Mayor Mark Hawke as Elisha Jackson, Gardner’s first settler with Kerry Bettez as the first settler’s wife; Rev, Gary Heikkila will be portraying Gardner’s first minister, Rev. Jonathan Osgood and Doris Forte will play the first minister’s wife; Fire Chief Ron Therrien and the Rev. James Hinds will be portraying two early settlers, Samuel Kelton and William Bickford; Sheila Murphy will portray murder victim, Miriam Kneeland.
