City Clerk / Tax Collector
The office of City Clerk/ Tax Collector performs the following:
- Collects all taxes for the City of Gardner.
- 1st Half real estate bills are due thirty days from mailing.
- 2nd Half bills are due May 1 and are considered paid when received by the Collector’s office.
- Excise tax bills are due thirty days from the date of mailing.
- Issues Birth, Death and Marriage Certificates.
- Keeps all deeds for the City.
- Compiles street and voting lists of residents.
- The deadline for registering to vote for any election is 20 days prior to said election.
- Absentee ballots are available until noontime the day prior to the election.
- Issues Fishing, Hunting, Sporting and Dog Licenses.
- Dog Licenses expire on March 31st of every year and are renewable in February.
- Licenses obtained after July 1st have a $10.00 fee assessed in addition to the regular fee.
