    In November the Book Group will be reading Truevine: Two Brothers, a Kidnapping, and a Mother's Quest by Beth Macy. Truevine tells the true story of George and Willie Muse, two albino African-American brothers who were kidnapped and displayed as circus freaks, and whose mother endured a twenty-eight-year struggle to get them back. New members welcome. Copies of the book are available at the Main Circulation Desk.

  1. Voter Registration Session

    November 15, 2017, 8:00 AM - November 28, 2017, 8:00 PM @ City Clerk's Office, Room 121, City Hall

    The Board of Registrars of Voters will conduct a voter registration session on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the City Clerk’s Office, Room 121, to enroll new voters for the December 5, 2017 Special State Election. This is the last day to register in order to be eligible to vote in this election. Every citizen who will be 18 years of age or older on or before December 5, 2017 and is a resident in the City and has not previously registered, may register at the above session. Citizens may also register daily at the City Clerk’s Office from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday or by utilizing the Mail-in Official Voter Registration Form or registering online at the Secretary of State’s website at https://www.sec.state.ma.us/ovr/ until the final date for registration.

  7. Accu-Vote Computer Balloting Program Test

    CITY OF GARDNER NOTICE OF ACCU-VOTE COMPUTER BALLOTING PROGRAM TEST In accordance with the provisions of 950 CMR §54.02, the City Clerk will conduct a test of the City’s Accu-Vote computer balloting program on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 beginning at 8:00 A.M. in the City Council Chamber, Room 219, City Hall. The testing is open to the public. The test shall incorporate a “test deck” of optical scanner ballots for the December 5, 2017 Special State Election, marked in such a way as to adequately test the computer program; demonstrate rejection of overvoted ballots; and test any other contents of the program which may have a bearing upon the accuracy of the count.
