  • The Gardner Health Department strives to provide a safe and sanitary environment for the residents of Gardner.
  • The Health Department provides inspections of restaurants, markets, beaches, pools, camps, housing, and other facilities.
  • The Health Department sponsors flu immunization clinics for Gardner residents in the Fall and rabies immunization clinics for cats and dogs in the spring. The department is also a regional distribution center for vaccines to area physicians and hospitals.
  • The Health Department operates the Gardner Transfer Station and helps to oversee curbside collection of trash and recyclables. Gardner has one of the highest recycling rates in Massachusetts-43%
  • The Board of Health is the approving authority for wells and septic systems in Gardner.
