Film Screening and Discussion: Exile and Community-The Life of Carola Domar
Thursday, June 18, 2020
Join us for a free screening of the documentary film Exile and Community: The Life of Carola Domar (1 hour), which follows the moving story of a young Jewish girl who grew up in Nazi Germany, escaped to the United States in her teens, and settled in an idealistic residential community in Concord, MA. The screening will be followed by a discussion and Q&A with the filmmaker, Susan Rieder, and Domar’s two adult daughters, Erica Banderob and Alice Domar. With grant funding, the filmmaker is collaborating with a team of scholars and teachers to create a curriculum guide so this film – created with age-appropriate images and content for youth in grades 6-12 – can be a valuable teaching tool in classrooms throughout the Commonwealth. Registration will be open until June 18 at 6:00 pm.
